Become a Host Family

Good Host Families are essential to our business, we always welcome you to join use. If you are interested in becoming a host family and hosting students for Brighter Prospects Guardians? Please let us know. 

Application Process:

1. Enquire

2. Apply

We will send you Application Form to complete it and scan / email or send back to us by post. Upon receipt we will acknowledge, and will arrange the next step.

3. Visit

We will contact you within a few days to discuss your application, and this is an opportunity to ask any further questions, at the same time, we also make an appointment to come and visit you at your house. During the visiting time, we will review your application, discuss and give you some training on hosting an international student, including safeguarding, and provide a comprehensive Host Family Handbook.

4. Document requirements

a). Property documents: Insurance, and Gas Safety Certificate.

b). DBS check (Disclosure and Barring Service) for members of the household aged 16 or over. For a new BDS check, ID and proof of address is needed.

c). Two references, one from a professional.

d). Host Contract to be signed and returned.

5. Completion

The Host Contract is signed and returned, with DBS and references finalised. We will notify you that your accreditation is complete and your application will be registered on our database.

6. Starting to Host

We will contact you to check on your availability for the required dates, then we will make all the arrangements, agree the transfers from school (and return), finally, the completed arrangement will be sent to you via email.

On the Arrival Day your student may be slightly apprehensive to start, there are tips on hosting in the Host Family Handbook, but if you have any concerns, please contact us at the office, or we have an Emergency Phone Line available 24 hours per day.
